Contacts Section

The Contacts section makes it easy for you to manage all personal information for three different groups of people: Supporters, Staff, and Outreach lists.  “Supporters” is an inclusive category that represents all volunteers, donors, fans, and other people who encourage your mission.  Create unlimited Staff accounts within your organization with customizable security clearances.  Finally, import Outreach Lists comprised of people who are not currently supporters of your cause.

The Details...

Supporters

Supporters consist of all volunteers, donors, and all other fans of your organization.  Store all their information in one easy-to-use location within Wildfire Platform.  There are three easy ways to pull supporters into your database.  

  • Supporters can sign-up through any website in which you activate Engage Anywhere
  • You can manually add individual supporters.
  • Bulk import your entire supporter lists.

To import a new list of supporters:

  1. Go to the Contacts page and click on the Supporters tab
  2. Click the button that reads "Import Supporters"  
  3. Upload a .CSV file.  Note:  The column headers of your CSV spreadsheet must be labeled accordingly.  (Currently, Wildfire can import the following fields: Title, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Suffix, Email, Home Phone, Work Phone, Mobilize Phone, Address Street, Suite, City, State, Zip Code, County, Gender, Birth Date (mm/dd/yyyy), Company, Job Title, External ID, Email Subscriber, Tag, Note, and any involvement interests you've set up in the Basic Options section of Platform Config.)
  4. Suscribe the list to your newsletter if appropriate

  5. If this list is a from a specific state or country, indicate it as such. 
  6. Apply any tags for future segmenting (i.e. "Volunteers", "Phone callers", "Donors")
  7. Click Continue
  8. Make sure that all fields display correctly
  9. Select continue to finish import

Once your supporters are in Wildfire Platform mobilize them to complete your desired Actions

Staff

Staff are your most loyal supporters. Create unlimited staff accounts with customizable roles and permissions.  Change staff roles and permissions on the individual supporter cards.  

To create new staff accounts:

  1. Click the New Staff Button
  2. Provide First and Last Name
  3. Set a password

Outreach Lists

Outreach Lists are comprised of people that are not directly involved in your organization like voter lists or old member lists.  

To import a new list:

  1. Click New List
  2. Give the list a name
  3. Specify the column delimiter (i.e. comma, pipe symbol, or section) 
  4. Upload a .CSV file
  5. Click Create List

Once your lists are imported into Wildfire Platform, mobilize your supporters to reach out through actions like Make Phone Calls or Go Door-to-Door

Micro-Targeted Segments

Segments allow you to group specific supporters based on shared characteristics.  Organize supporters with similar involvement interests like volunteering or donating or group people together who live in the same city, county, or state.  You can then send targeted communications or mobilizations to these groups. 

To create a new segment:

  1. Click the New Segment Button
  2. Title your new supporter segment
  3. Provide a description for your reference
  4. Edit the Filter Criteria so that supporters will appear in this segment if some or all of the conditions are met.  (See Segmenting to learn more about the specific types of filters)
  5. Save Segment.

Once you have organized your supporters into segments, you can mobilize those particular segments or send them micro-targeted emails.
