Overview
Ask supporters to do a custom action that resides outside Wildfire. You can easily configure a custom action and integrate it with Wildfire’s tracking capability.
Ask supporters to Custom Action
Note: If you haven’t already done so, you must first install the Action Plugin and then setup at least one Kit.
We also recommend exploring the various widgets and APIs that can be used to integrate this Action into the rest of your online and offline tools.
Mobilize It
To mobilize the the Custom Action:
- Click the "Mobilize" button from any location within the Staff App.
- Select who you want to complete this Action by segment or individual supporters.
- Personalize the body of the message that your supporters will receive.
- Select the Action "Custom Action"
- Select your Action Kit which you previously created
- Click mobilize.
Install It
To install this action:
- Go to the Platform Config section and select Action Plugins.
- In the top left corner select the "Install/Uninstall Plugins" button.
- Simply click "Install" to load this Action into your Wildfire Platform.
Next Step: Once your Custom Action Action is installed, you'll want to setup one or more Kits.
Set Up the Kits
To set up this Action Kit:
- Go to the Platform Config section and select Action Kits.
- Select "New Action Kit" for the Custom action.
Basic Details
- Give the kit a name. This is for your records in the Staff App.
- Describe the purpose of the Action. The purpose will explain to each supporter why it is important for them to do this action.
- Set an individual goal. i.e. How many supporters do you want to do this action?
Action Details
- Give the kit a title. This is what the supporters will see.
- Provide the URL that you want to send the supporter to.
- Set the potential Personal Impact for completing this action
Messaging
- Provide a message that you want supporters to see when they complete this action.
Advanced Options
- Include the Task ID in the URL to allow the external site to signal completion via the Wildfire API.
- Include the Action ID Param Name. This is the name of the task ID parameter to include in the URL
